Primroses and Promising Talent.
- News and views by Christine Hodgson
Have you spotted them? Not so easily seen from the speeding car, but if you go 'a pied' and look beyond the plentiful Daffodils, you should see flourishing clusters of Primroses adorning the hedgerows and countryside, appearing more prolific than ever, and have surely been helped by the law prohibiting them from being dug up for the garden. Good job too! Blue Bells are also putting in an appearance! It,s a lovely time of year, I'm sure you'll agree.
Anyway, hope you've had a very happy Eastertime, had a sufficient fix of chocolate eggs, and benefitted from the unpredicted glorious sunshine.
Good news for Tony Potter and Les Ayres as they have attained their EFIAP's.The E stands for Excellence, and follows on from the AFIAP award, but cannot be gained in less than 3 years. The EFIAP is a well deserved acknowledgement, requiring 60 pictures with 3 awards to be accepted in international salons in at least 5 countries. The last pre-requisite being, at least 15 pictures have to be new ones. So very well done both!

A Young Man With Promise
Will Lee, aged 12 years came to our notice after entering The Great British Small Print Circuit and gaining some acceptances. Will attends the William Farr C of E secondary school in Lincoln and is a member of the RB Camera Club, Lincoln. He is taking GSCE O Level in Photography, 3 years and is predicted to achieve an A*. He has already won a Science Collage Photography Competition at his school with his picture called Flame of Hope.(Picture of a Bunsen burner flame). He describes very competently his use of Photosgop tools to make this picture work well, and the image now hangs in his schools new foyer. The pictures he enjoys taking most are of architecture, birds, macro, still life, fish, and obviously Bunsen burners! He displays his photographs on the Ephotozine web site and is brave enough to invite comments/scores. We wish you well Will with your photography and studies, and we'd better watch out for some stiff coompetition in the future! Well done.
